Dear Mike
Thank you for everything, you’re a gem!
We met you completely by chance (at the library) and from that very first interaction, you stood out. What really struck me was how you immediately spoke directly to our son, Jack, included him in the conversation, and took the time to ask about his interests to build rapport straight away. That genuine effort to connect made such a difference. As a parent of an autistic young person, finding someone who truly understands isn’t always easy, but you did, right from the beginning. You created an environment where he felt safe, understood, and not judged, which allowed his confidence to grow with every lesson.
What impressed me most was your patience and your ability to adapt your teaching to suit Jack’s needs. You never rushed him or expected him to fit into a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, you encouraged him, adjusted your style, and supported him in a way that worked for him. That patience extended beyond the lessons too, even when Jack didn’t reply to your text messages or may have “pretended” he wasn’t home (we had a laugh about that), you remained understanding and consistent, which speaks volumes about your character.
Seeing Jack achieve his P’s on his first attempt was an incredibly proud moment for all of us, your support played a HUGE role in that success. You didn’t just teach him how to drive, you helped him believe in himself. For that, we are truly grateful, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to other families. In fact, I’ve already been recommending you and will continue to do so.
Thank you again,
Melissa
