Free Safer Drivers Course

The New South Wales government has introduced an exciting initiative aimed at promoting road safety and empowering low income families who meet eligibility requirements. 

Learner drivers must have a valid NSW Learner’s License, hold a current Concession Card and have completed 50 actual driving hours in their logbook (excluding bonus hours from lessons). To check whether you are eligible, complete the application form below.

Participating in the Safer Drivers Course can bring numerous benefits to new drivers. By removing the financial barrier, the government is ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to receive high-quality driver training.The course focuses on developing safe driving techniques, hazard perception, and risk management skills. Participants will learn valuable strategies to anticipate and avoid potential dangers on the road, making them better equipped to handle various driving situations. These skills not only enhance road safety but also contribute to a more confident and responsible driving experience.

  2. Attach a photo or scanned copy of ONE of these documents:
    • Health Care Card (showing student’s number and expiry date)
    • Pensioner Concession Card (showing student’s number and expiry date)
    • DLAP letter
    • OOHC letter

Pensioner Concession validation consent

I authorise Roads and Maritime services to confirm with Centrelink details about my pension entitlement. This includes whether or not the details I have provided Roads and Maritime match Centrelink or Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) records and whether or not I am still receiving a Centrelink or DVA benefit.

I agree, unless I revoke my consent, this Customer Consent record is a permanent consent. and may be relied on until such time as I revoke it.

I may revoke my consent at any time by giving Roads and Maritime written notice. I understand if I revoke my consent, I will not be eligible for pensioner concessions provided by Roads and Maritime. I understand that my "personal information" is collected, held by Roads and Maritime, 20-44 Ennis Road, Milsons Point 2061. I declare that the details in this application are true and complete.

I understand that: my "personal information" is being collected to authorise verification of my details with Centrelink/Department of Veterans' Affairs for eligibility for a Concession Entitlement. Failure to supply full details and sign this authority can result in the concession being denied. My "personal information" will only be disclosed to verify this information. I have a right to access or correct my "personal information" in accordance with the provisions of the relevant Privacy Legislation.

 

Terms and Conditions

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made more than 7 days in advance for a full refund.
Cancellations made from 7 days to 48 hours prior to course commencement will not be refunded, however can be rebooked for another date where possible.
Where a course is cancelled by the provider, you will be rebooked into a subsequent course date or a refund can be arranged.
Cancellations made within 48 hours will incur full fee, unless MEDICAL CERTIFICATE is provided covering the day of the course.
There is no refund for non-attendance.
Please note that the Safer Drivers Course MUST reach a minimum of 6 students to proceed.
Late arrivals may not be admitted to the Course.

Privacy

By continuing, you understand that your personal information is required to be disclosed to Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) and may be used by TfNSW to verify your successful completion of the course and to discuss course feedback. TfNSW will not use or disclose your personal information without your consent unless authorised by law.

Social Media

We may be taking some group photos during module 1 as well as individual photos during module 2. Please make your facilitator and a coach aware if you do not wish your photo to be taken. These photos may be used on social media platforms.
